I don’t understand how I could spend so much time watching video after video. However, I have spent countless hours watching and sending random videos from the oh so popular YouTube. YouTube, Google, Facebook, and Myspace have all made their way into different parts of speeches. How often have you been asked a question and you responded, “I dunno, google it”? These popular sites have crossed over into verbs and adjectives; and it is a natural shift for the current generation.
So why do we spend so much time “Googling” and looking up videos on YouTube to share with out friends? In a Wired article by Bob Garfield, he quotes Chad Hurley as saying, “Everyone, in the back of his mind, wants to be a star,” Hurley asserts for probably the quadrillionth time, “and we provide the audience to make it happen.”
I could not agree more.
